Meet Canadian Slovenian Chamber of Commerce’s new Marketing & Business Development Coordinator Mr. Matthew Noehammer.
Matthew has been involved in the Canadian Slovenian community from a young age, participating in various activities such as Slovenian School, obtaining his Ontario grade 10 credit in Slovenian language. In 2012 he attended a two week Slovenian language program at the Centre for Slovene as a Second/Foreign Language at the University of Ljubljana. Matthew has also been a server at many different banquets held in the church hall in Toronto over the past two years. He received two consecutive honours awards for exceptional academic achievement. Currently, Matthew is attending the University of Guelph and plans on graduating in 2019 with a bachelors degree in commerce.
Beside the business and academic side, Matthew is an active athlete. He has been playing hockey for 12 years, winning multiple championship awards in Mississauga hockey league. He has also won the “Most Valuable Player” award in Mississauga Majors baseball team with which he also achieved a win at the city championship.
Matthew has traveled to Slovenia on multiple occasions and developed a strong connection with the land and the culture. Beside Slovenia, he had a chance to experience a large part of Central Europe by also spending a good amount of time in Austria and Germany.
Matthew is excited to work with the Canadian Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and help the community thrive.
